Beetroot and walnut bread #vegetarian #recipe; well I followed the recipe, altho left out the walnuts; it was sooo quick and easy (2 hours rise time), and it tastes good. Had mine dipped in kale-potato-pepper soup. YUM! And it's gorgeous!! And makes a HUGE loaf!! Want to make grilled cheese with carmelized onions with this bread next. Mmmm.
Finally, a malt bread recipe that tastes the way it's supposed to! And it's dairy free and low(ish) in sugar, too. Supposedly it improves after a few days, but it was pretty delectable still warm. I made a single 2lb loaf, which took about 1 hour 15 mins. Next time I might add even more dried fruit, and sub in some wholemeal flour.
Bread Pudding recipe. My Mum made the best bread pudding ever, she used suet instead of butter as in this recipe, I remember the wonderful smell of the spices that filled the kitchen. Traditionally made to use up stale bread. I think I will make one soon, doubt if it will be as good as hers though
