Brighton Pier, England. The skeleton of the old pier that burnt down. Such conspiracy! :-) OH, I brought home a ton of these little rocks from the shore. It's so strange seeing a beach without sand. <3
The Little Rock Nine ~ 1957. These are the children who integrated the school in Little Rock, Arkansas. President Eisenhower ordered out the National Guard to protect them, but they were still spit on and they had to endure hateful remarks and racist epithets. They are all heroes in my book.
Lantic Bay, Fowey, Cornwall, England. One of the best hidden beaches in England! To the west of wild Pencarrow Head, set just beneath the cliffs, walk down well made steps surrounded by wildflowers to discover two stunning beaches (Great Lantic and Little Lantic). At low tide there are lovely easy-access rock pools full of sea life and a good stretch of sand for playing on.
Soarmill, South Devon At high tide swim around the little island, and at low tide explore the many caves along the cliff bottom. Afterwards head up to the nearby Iron Age hillfort at Bolt Tail for spectacular sunsets and the chance to spot dolphins and porpoises.
