Lilly Langtree

Edward, Prince of Wales's first 'official mistress', Lillie Langtree, their affair lasted from 1877 to 1880. The tiara features many diamond pinnacles, alternately topped with flower heads and honeysuckle on a band of diamonds.


Lilly Langtree (1853-1929) by Lady Finavon. She married Edward Langtry in March 1874 as a way to leave the Channel Islands where she was born. She had a relationship with the Prince of Wales and later became an actress. By the end of teh war, she retired to Monaco and at the age of 75 caught bronchities and pleurisy and later influenza and passed away on 2/12/1929.


Lillie Langtry (1853-1929) was a British music hall singer and stage actress famous for her many stage productions. She was also known for her relationships with nobility. She was an early example of celebrity endorsement, using her high public profile to endorse commercial products such as cosmetics and soap.
