The LEATHERBACK TURTLE is the world's largest turtle. With the widest range of all the marine turtles, it is found throughout the world's oceans. It often undertakes long-distance migrations, between feeding grounds in temperate waters and nesting beaches in the tropics. The estimated population is 35,860 nesting females. (2014)
