Akira Kurosawa & Toshirô Mifune on the set of Yojimbo(1961). Kurosawa has influenced many Hollywood directors, not least George Lucas, whose Star Wars (the original film, or Episode IV: A New Hope if you weren't around in the '70s!) borrowed heavily from Kurosawa's Hidden Fortress.
