John William Waterhouse’s “The Lady of Shalott” - 1888

John William Waterhouse: The Crystal Ball [with the skull] - I like the history behind this painting. At some point a new owner had the skull (to offensive) painted over but later as the painting changed hands once more, the skull was uncovered.

"Ophelia by John Waterhouse" by The Fine Art Masters

Ophelia, 1894, by John Waterhouse. I love Waterhouse's paintings - many are based on classic tales and legends and all are just gorgeous!
