Industrial Loft Stair Hall - Architect Ryan Duffey removed the existing narrow spiral staircase and created a stair hall allowing in more natural light. Reclaimed wood was used for the treads but the industrial feel was maintained with the iron railing. www.jryanduffey.com
It is great to see when a repurposed space lets the existing building retain it's patina, rust, stains and character. Like a pair of new glasses on a seasoned and wrinkled face, the new duct in shiny silver provides a nice contrast between new and old. Leave a comment if you know where this is! ~modarchitect
Ah-HA! This is what we can do outside the back door that currently has a cement landing and staircase built directly over a basement window (the stupidest design decision EVER!). Perforated metal would be the perfect replacement to let light into the rec room.
