AD Classics: IIT Master Plan and Buildings / Mies van der Rohe
SR Crown Hall, Illinois Institute of Technology, 1950-56. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The architecture building as IIT, designed for flexibility. The partition walls can be moved, which allows the space to be converted from studios to galleries to performance spaces. The thin roof is an amazing engineering feat.
E-motion: shape-shifting hood that references the senses and feelings of a person in an abstract way. It subtly transforms and changes shape via shape memory alloys. The project was developed Max Schäth
Photograph by Matt Wisniewski. The shades of this photo and the beautiful flower print on her shoulder realllly caught my eye, altogether beautiful effect methinks. Here is the link for his work [http://mattw.us/images/project/futur-couture/]
