Registration card: In September 1942, Nicolai Rotko was deported to Germany as a slave labourer. He worked at a munitions factory in Telgte in Westphalia. In autumn 1944, he was arrested by the Gestapo after an argument with his foreman and imprisoned in a "work education camp". He was transferred from there to Neuengamme concentration camp in December 1944. In February 1945, he was assigned to Wöbbelin to construct a satellite camp, where he was liberated in late April 1945.
