Hastings, New Zealand, is the larger of the two major urban areas in Hawke's Bay, on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand. The population is about 67,800 as of the June 2014 estimate. It is about 18 kilometres inland of the coastal city of Napier. I stopped in Hastings overnight on my way to Napier during my trip around the world in 1995. The world-famous art deco buildings were a treat to see, the town was easy to get around on foot, and the atmosphere was warm and friendly.
Te Mata Peak, near Hastings/Napier, New Zealand. Actually Havelock North. This is a spectacular mountain-top lookout, which Is an easy DRIVE, or a hard trek! I can't think of a more easily accessible, yet still spectacular scenic lookout! Bill✔️
