Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2013

Only the fifth set of mountain gorilla twins ever to be reported in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park. The mountain gorilla is officially listed as critically endangered. This image by Diana Rebman was in the running for the 2013 Gerald Durrell Award for Endangered Species.

Gorilla mother Kumili arms her newborn at the zoo in Leipzig, central Germany. The baby gorilla was born during the night between 10 and 11 March 2014 and its sex is still unknown. It's the second gorilla baby born within four month in this group of apes.
