MONTAUBAN, FRANCE | Nestled in the southwestern French countryside, the enchanting 50-acre farm La Castellane has been thoughtfully transformed by its longtime owner, designer Kathryn M. Ireland. Shutters painted sky-blue enliven the renovated main dwelling, built around 1850. Inside, rooms exude bohemian chic.
"M. Claude watches all the people walk by on Rue du Sommerard in front of the flower shop of his owner. When anyone stops to admire or select some flowers, little Claude dashes inside and makes a soft whuff to alert the proprietor. It is very funny to watch."
