ANATOMY: Hand. Our hands are incredible! The hand is a complicated prehensile structure of bones, tendons and nerves. It’s basically built in 3 sections: the palm (opposite side is called the opisthenar), the wrist, the fingers and thumb. Did you know that our fingers have no muscles? The muscles bending the finger are situated in the palm and up to mid forearm. They are linked to the finger bones by tendons to move the fingers as strings seen in a marionette. Phoebe G
