I loved visiting Portmeirion in Wales because it's made from a collection of odd bits and architectural fragments, rescued from places all over Europe. It was the brainchild of Sir Clough Williams-Ellis who built it during the period from 1925 to 1975. His daughter Susan is the designer of Portmeirion china.
This is St. Paul's cathedral. The cathedral was designed by Christopher Wren to be re-built after the Great Fire of London in 1666. Even if you are not particularly religious, you can still go and view the beauty of the cathedral.
