Soon after he began to investigate infinitesimal calculus. At age 16, he performed the first of his famous thought experiments in which he visualized traveling alongside a beam of light.
Einstein was said to be a very slow talker as a child. He is said to not have begun speaking until around the age of five, which worried his parents into believing that he might be "slow." Today the term "Einstein Syndrome" is used to categorize exceptionally bright children who display a delay in speech.
