Shauna was diagnosed with Stage IV Ewing’s Sarcoma in April of 2010 with tumors in her lungs and femur. She completed all her treatment (surgery to remove tumor and replace femur with titanium, chemotherapy, and radiation to lungs) in March of 2011 and is cancer-free! Shauna is currently attending Collin College to study business.
Carley was diagnosed with Stage IV Ewing's Sarcoma in the spring of 2010 shortly before her 16th birthday. She missed most of her junior year of high school while receiving chemotherapy and radiation for treatment. After celebrating nearly 20 months of clear scans, a small tumor was discovered in one lung. Carley is participating in a clinical trial using vaccine therapy after surgery to remove the tumor.
Ben was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma at the age of 2. Ewing's was discovered in the soft tissue of his left eye. Ben's chemotherapy and radiation treatments were completed within a year of diagnosis, but several eye surgeries and treatments for the effects of chemo and radiation had to be endured for many more years.
