Turkey - Ephesus - The enormous archaeological site of Ephesus is one of the most significant ancient sites in the world, and its Temple of Artemis= is one of the original Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The site, which predates Christ, was in 133BC the second most important Roman city after Rome. Today, you can wander through streets, take in the famous Temple of Artemis, look at the Basilica of St John, where St John the apostle is said to be buried and soak up the atmosphere
