Fluorite is the mineral form of calcium fluoride, CaF₂. It belongs to the halide minerals. It crystallizes in isometric cubic habit, although octahedral and more complex isometric forms are not uncommon.
Emerald "Trapiche" This is a slice of a crystal. Is the result of the growth of a Crystal with the darkened impurity of lutite. As the Crystal grows the darker lutite is pushed to the center and then radiates out in the six directions of the corners of the Crystal. An analysis of MUZO´s trapiche emerald found that the principal coloring agent was vanadium.3 and Trapiche Emerald’s are formed when black carbon impurities fill in at the emerald crystal junction.
