Our homes are powerful instruments of inspiration. There are few places that we can walk into and decide to change and personalize through furniture, color and finishes. / Schoolhouse Electric Wall Sconce
I made several of these mirrors for Christmas gifts and I have a few left over that I'm selling here. I intentionally used pieces of wood with knots and flaws, while always ensuring that the piece is structurally sound. It was a "uniqueness in the wood is like the uniqueness of the face in the mirror" sort of idea. 10% of the sales price will be donated to a local nonprofit organization. They are made of quartersawn white oak. Overall dimensions are approximately 16" x 17" and mirror is 9" x 11". Using three different wood thicknesses adds a nice depth to the piece. Joinery is pinned mortise and tenon like most all of my work.
