Norwich Cathedral, cloister and labyrinth - Norwich, England, UK - begun in 1096 and constructed out of flint and mortar and faced with a cream-coloured Caen limestone. A Saxon settlement and two churches were demolished to make room for the buildings. Completed in 1145 with the Norman tower still seen today topped with a wooden spire covered with lead.
The Kosciuszki Mound. Krakow. Poland. A large man made mound constructed in honor of Tadeusz Kosciuszko. Built in 1823. Constructed using soil from the battlefields where Kosciuszko fought. Snake-like paths lead to the top of the mound.
Slovenia’s centrist Prime Minister has predicted “conflict” in Europe if the migrant crisis escalates again, defending the construction of border fences. Miro Cerar, who leads the nation’s Modern Centre Party, told Die Welt that Europe is “divided” and risks falling apart under the strain of the migrant crisis. “Should the Balkan route be opened again, it will spark a conflict in the region – in Central Europe and the Western Balkans,” Mr. Cerar said.
