Give it a farewell reception: Last aerial dish from iconic BT Tower is removed
The BT Tower is a communications tower located in Fitzrovia W1W. It has been previously known as the Post Office Tower, the London Telecom Tower, and the British Telecom Tower. The main structure is 177 metres (581 ft) high, with a further section of aerial rigging bringing the total height to 191 metres (627 ft). Construction of the tower commenced in 1961, completed in 1964.
Rising above the rest: Japan's Sky Tree is the world's tallest tower... for now
How the towers compare: Sky Tree edges out the Guangzhou Tower (china) and leaves others - the CN Tower (Canada), Ostankino Tower (Russia) Oriental Pearl Tower (China) Milad Tower (Iran) and Menara Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) - in its wake
