So far my heroes & villlains are all male but here is Sylvia Pankhurst (1882-1960). A rebel within a family of rebels, she was more radical than her mother Emmeline or sister Christabel. I love her shining egalitarian spirit as suffragette, feminist, socialist, pacifist, antifascist & anti-imperialist. Campaigning against Italy's invasion of Abyssinia she was befriended by Haile Selassie, & died in Ethiopia. A sombre, beautiful photo from the high years of the suffragette protest.
