Chicago's Green River on St. Patrick's Day - St. Patrick’s Day celebrations are in full force this weekend. The Chicago River will officially turn green at 9:30 a.m., a little earlier than usual. The dyeing was previously scheduled for 10 a.m., but organizers have found it difficult to start the parade on time with so many people gathered along the river to watch it turn green.
