This is a very old southern recipe. It's a very sweet, rich pie which cannot be described as anything but marvelous. This is not my personal recipe but was passed to me by my grandmother and from her grandmother and so on and so forth.

Buttermilk Chess Pie 1 1/2 cups sugar 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 5 large eggs, lightly beaten 2/3 cup buttermilk 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust Preheat oven to 350. Combine sugar and flour in a large bowl. Add eggs and buttermilk, stirring until blended. Stir in melted butter and vanila and pour into unbaked pie crust.Bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until set

Classic Chess Pie. The best pie ever!! Pour 2 cups sugar, 2 Tbsp. cornmeal, 1 Tbsp. flour, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/2 cup butter, 1/4 milk, 1 Tbsp. white vinegar, 1/2 tsp. vanilla and 4 eggs into a pie crust. Bake for 50-55 in a 350 degree oven.
