Rare Pattern Character Laden 32-Star American Flag Captured at 1st Bull Run by Thomas Cawood, Co. K, 3d Tennessee Infantry (Mounted) CSA. Cawood served with the 3d Tennessee until his discharge in 1864 and was present at 1st Bull Run. The flag is 43" on the hoist and 57" on the fly, constructed entirely by hand of cotton, exhibiting several different weaves. The Flag - The Nicaraguan flag consists of three horizontal stripes and an emblem in the center. The blue stripes resemble the water on both sides of the land (the white stripe). The words on to of the emblem say "Republica de Nicaragua" and on the bottom "America Central." The five volcanoes in the middle of the triangle stand for the five Central American countries.
