Were you a massive fan of Tigi (particularly Tigi Bed Head) in your youth like I was? I've long loved their product names and admired their fun, colourful packaging, Dumb Blonde, Ego Boost, Motor Mouth, Totally Baked, or Dirty Secret anyone? When the Tigi Catwalk Fashionista Violet Shampoo & Conditioner* landed on my desk during February I was very excited to try yet another toning product. As a blonde, I am forever attempting to banish unwanted warm tones, I really enjoy trialling products promising to reduce any brassiness and enhance the cool pearly tones in my hair. A quick note on the packaging, aside from the flat lay friendly purple and black gradient look, each bottle features a clever twist to open mechanism, simply twist the cap up and squeeze to dispense product, no awkward dropping of the cap on the shower floor. The shampoo contains 300ml while the conditioner contains 250ml, ordinarily I would like it the other way around but considering both products are violet tinted I'm personally more likely to go through a toning shampoo faster than a toning conditioner, I apply shampoo all over my hair and scalp while I only apply conditioner to the mid lengths and ends. The violet tint is medium strength, not a super rich dark purple and not a wishy washy pastel, it's the perfect medium tone for regular use in my hair care routine. The formula itself is colour safe, designed to help protect the hair from heat damage, is sulfate free, contains pearl extract, rice milk and smells delightfully fragrant right up until the next wash. I personally leave both the shampoo and conditioner in my hair for up to five minutes at a time and upon final rinse and blow dry my hair is left feeling soft, and looking shiny, pearly and bright with no harsh warm tones in sight. Yet another awesome toning range for Blondies that I can recommend. How do you keep brassiness at bay? *Products provided for consideration.
