Great Britain set an Olympic record to win a third straight men's team sprint gold with a shock victory against world champions New Zealand. Philip Hindes, Jason Kenny - who claimed his fourth Olympic gold - and Callum Skinner won in 42.440 seconds.

Great Britain's Jason Kenny won his fifth Olympic gold medal by beating compatriot Callum Skinner in the men's sprint final at Rio 2016. London 2012 champion Kenny came out on top in the first two races to win the best-of-three final. Russia's Denis Dmitriev beat Australia's Matthew Glaetzer in the race for bronze.
