Opening Bell : Equity benchmarks extended rally in morning trade with the Sensex rising over a percent, driven by banks, FMCG and auto stocks and following positive lead from the Wall Street. The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 297.09 points or 1.05 percent at 28709.98 and the 50-share NSE Nifty gained 85.50 points or 0.98 percent at 8828.05. The 30-share BSE #Sensex was down 27 points at 28344 and the 50-share NSE #Nifty fall 11 points to 8715. The market breadth remained positive for second day as about two shares advanced for every share falling on the Bombay Stock Exchange. ITC, Adani Ports, Sun Pharma, Cipla, BHEL and GAIL were #TopGainers on the Sensex, up 1-2 percent whereas Infosys, Axis Bank, Hero Motocorp and Bajaj Auto lost 1-2 percent.

The 30-share #BSE #Sensex was down 443.71 points or 1.54 percent at 28353.54 and the 50-share #NSE #Nifty down 151.10 points or 1.70 percent at 8715.60. The market breadth remained in favour of declines. About three shares fell for every share rising on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
HDFC gains on fund raising plan:HDFC gained 0.7 percent to Rs 1,402.25 on BSE after the company said it is aiming to raise Rs 500 crore by issuing Rupee denominated bonds to overseas investors.The announcement was made after market hours yesterday, 30 August 2016.Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 70.84 points, or 0.25 percent, to 28,413.85.HDFC said the issue will open today, 31 August 2016 and will close tomorrow, 1 September 2016. The bonds will be listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE).
