The most recent statistics from the Bureau of Justice Statistics show that from 1976 through 2011 there were 279,384 black victims of homicide. The interesting part is that 94% of that 279,384 were black on black murders, meaning that since 1976, only 16,763 black people have been murdered by non-black people. That leaves 262,621 who were killed by another black person.
