Day #4: Something that screams CREATIVITY. I love these petri dish works by Klari Reis, she mimics electron microscope images of natural and unnatural cellular reactions using reflective epoxy polymer. I'm fascinated by the concept and creativity that inspired it
I believe we are still so innocent. The species are still so innocent that a person who is apt to be murdered believes that the murderer, just before he puts the final wrench on his throat, will have enough compassion to give him one sweet cup of water. ~ Maya Angelou More
Dendrite- the bushy, branching extensions of a neuron that receive messages and conduct impulses toward the cell body/ Axon- the extension of a neuron, ending in branching terminal fibers, through which messages pass to other neurons of to muscles or glands
Klari Reis will be creating art within the confines of plexiglass petri dishes for a project called The Daily Dish, which is a continuation of a project she completed back in 2009. Klari uses layers of reflective epoxy polymer to create colorful and abstract paintings that look like living microorganisms.
