Bessie Love (September 10, 1898 – April 26, 1986) was an American motion picture actress who achieved prominence mainly in the silent films and early talkies.

Bessie Love (1898-1986) - Oscar-nominated actress and playright. Born Juanita Horton, she was given her screen name by D.W. Griffith. Acted in her first film in 1916 ("Aquitted") and her last in 1983 ("The Hunger"). Performed the first "Charleston" dance on-screen in 1925.

In 1922, Bessie Love was selected as one of the WAMPAS Baby Stars. In 1923, she starred in "Human Wreckage," with Dorothy Davenport and produced by Thomas Ince.
