This beautiful baby seal may be one of thousands each year who are beaten to death with a club. The fur is worth a great deal of money. This takes place in CANADA!

The harp seal has a silvery-gray body. Its eyes are pure black. It has black harp or wishbone-shaped markings on the back. Flippers act as heat exchangers, warming or cooling the blood as needed. On ice, the seal can press its fore-flippers to its body and its hind-flippers together to reduce heat loss.
