Early Blackfoot/Cree Beaded Dag Knife and Sheath. Sheath is 15 ½" overall, knife is 12 ½" overall with a 7" blade. The knife is typical of Hudson Bay Co. style. Circa 1830-1850s. Sheath is nicely beaded with floral designs and a 4 ½" drop backed with canvas. Circa 1900. Sheath is pictured in John Baldwin's book "Indian Knives and Beaded Sheaths of the American Frontier". Auction In Santa Fe 2016.
