The Philippine Eagle (Pithocophaga jeffeyi), also known as the Monkey-eating Eagle is one of the most magnificent birds of prey in the world, and also one of the most endangered. This beautiful bird is listed as Critically Endangered, threatened by deforestation and huge habitat losses. There may only be about 200 Philippine eagles left in the wild.
