I hope you guys enjoy it :) | By Mixed Media Girl | Hey, guys. Mixed Media Girl here. In this video, I'm making a smaller resin bowl with this really cute flower mold that I found on Amazon and I'm starting off by prepainting it with my mica powders. So, I want to do this one a little bit differently than I normally do and I'm going to actually kind of combine the mica powders with the alcohol inks and see how that comes out. So, I'll explain as I go what I'm doing but I'm starting off by essentially painting the mold with the colors that I want and I started with this little piggy submarine is that awesome yellow then I used a little bit of polycolor copper which is that brownish color and then I thought it would be really cute to accent it with some purple and if you're familiar with the color real purple and yellow are complimentary colors so the yellow will tone down that purple a little bit and make it a little more earthy and I just thought that would be a cute way to fill in those colors once I was done with the Mica's I went in with some alcohol inks so I'm using a combination of Ranger and Pinata Alcohol Inks in the middle I put a bit of the pinata brown and then on the outside I put some of the Ranger yellow and a little bit of the Ranger purple and then some piñata white now I kind of regretted this white a little bit I think I put little too much but it's all an experiment anyways and I did also add just a little bit of the pinata black into the center of the mold once I was done with that I poured my resin in I'm using Mixed Media Girl Artist Resin and I mixed this up before doing my Alcohol Ink design but after doing the Mica design and honestly, I didn't particularly measure it but I believe that I used around eight ounces and I let that sit for a while. I liked how it was looking but I thought the center could be spread out a little bit more. So, I took a toothpick and I kind of pulled out some lines from the center. Keep in mind right now, what you're looking at is going to be the bottom of the mold and the design is on the other side really when you demold it you could use either side as your top it's totally up to you I just thought this would make it look a little bit better I let it continue to sit and in total it sat for about six hours and then I demolded it at this point it's not sticky it's not tacky and it's still very flexible and here's how it looks on the other side so I think definitely super cute I took a smaller bowl this is one that I got from the dollar store and I would have measure it but it's I think like nine inches across or eight inches across and I molded that into the bottom of it so this is going to be a pretty shallow bowl but that's okay and then I let it sit overnight and took it out the next day and here's how it looks so super cute more of a platter I guess you could say I think this could be really cute under a potted plant or maybe holding keys or something but there you go Thank you so much for watching. See you next time.
