Ice in the Arctic? There is some left!
Arctic sea ice extent for August 26, 2012 (right) was 4.10 million square kilometers (1.58 million square miles), which was 70,000 square kilometers (27,000 square miles) below the September 18, 2007 daily extent of 4.17 million square kilometers (1.61 million square miles, left). A loss of 5% of the ice will be the minimum over a full annual cycle. The orange line shows the 1979 to 2000 median extent for that day. The black cross indicates the geographic North Pole.
What Climate Change? (the instruments have all been cut)
The likelihood is that various financial cuts will see the end of efficient climate change checks. We need to consider the huge cost of correcting global warming problems can be offset by the relatively minor cost of maintaining proper monitoring. #climate #climatechange #ocean
Coal, oil and gas are killing climate
The Australians might be expected to be a little isolated from the global effects of climate change. Not true, plus they seem to be possibly the most aware of the dangers of selling their coal to Asia while suffering some terrible effects from global warming. #coal #oil #gas #climate
HFCs to be reduced?
When the two Presidents meet, we expect them to produce something useful. This could be a possible reduction in some of the most dangerous emissions we make. It's likely that storms and droughts have spoken louder than science for them to make this decision. #climate #hfcs #greenhousegases
