This is a set of four antique spirit bottles. An English, leather dressed glass decanter, dating to the Victorian period and later, circa 1900.
A Victorian sailor-made woolwork picture of H.M.S. Nile, in good condition save for the hat ribbon, which being silk and original is now in a parlous state. This has been conserved by the application of a fine gauze. Within the original bird’s eye maple frame. English circa 1860.

A fine reverse-painted glass picture by Petrus Nefos depicting 'H.M.S. Castor Running Down The Cameleon Cutter Off Dover Augt. 27 1834'. The artist rendering extraordinary detail showing the viewer Dover Castle in the distance between the main and mizzen masts with two lighthouses on the Dover Foreland above the chalk cliffs. The rigging of both vessels is highly accurate; one poor solitary crewmember seen beside the figurehead pulling himself up the standing rigging to the bowsprit. In excellent condition save for the tarnishing to black of the gold lettered title band. Within the original flame mahogany veneered wedge-form frame. English circa 1850.

Great looking mid Victorian sailormade woolwork picture depicting a Royal Navy Frigate, the sails presented at an angle to indicate speed as the vessel races through a jazzy sea, the mainmast pennant streaming behind. The sails are deeply padded so that they are seen to be full of the prevailing wind and there is the unusual detail of a figurehead, the 'button' with a cross at the bow probably representing a shield. Presented in a chunky, folksy, grained frame period to the work. British circa 1860. o.s: 26 inches x 21 inches s.s:19 inches x 14.5 inches

With a glazed section with a white panel with the thermometer and the temperatures in Centigrade and Fahrenheit, beneath is large circular section with a brass bezel and bevel edge glass and adjustable hand and white circular enamel dial. The barometer is clean and working and has recently been calibrated.
