Nightwing (Dick Grayson) is a fictional character, a superhero in the DC Comics universe. Created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez, first appearing in Tales of the Teen Titans #44 in 1984. Dick was the son of John and Mary Grayson, a family circus act (The Flying Grayson's) that performed at Haly's Circus. One night Dick sees his parents murdered by a mafia boss, coincidentally Bruce Wayne, (Batman) witnesses the terrifying act and offers to take Dick in. He soon figures out that Bruce Wayne is the Dark Knight, Bruce then agrees to take Dick under his wing as the first Robin. Eventually Dick took the name Nightwing, after he graduated from the position of Batman's sidekick Robin. Dick is also a member and founder of the Teen Titans.
