Making a willow heart.
Difficulty: Easy Materials • willow (green, or pre-soaked) around 24 rods • string or wire Tools • secateurs • bodkin (or knitting needle or similar) Basic Instructions • First bend and curl the willow around to make it more flexible • tie 2 rod together near the base and again around 30-40cm along the length then bend the ends around to make the heart shape. • add more rods starting at a join and wrapping them around. Keep bending the heart into shape as you go • continue until you have the desired thickness- trim off the loose ends.
