QuickStart InDesign Training
On our one day Adobe InDesign Training Course we cover the basics of the software. We run quickstarts in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and Acrobat. The aim of the course is to get you familiar with the software quickly and easily. Used Aviano Flare for the title in this - not sure we're convinced its a good choice but still......
Graphic Design Books
We've a huge collection of old design books here at Greta Powell Training, comes from a liftime of addiction to design. There's some really old ones dating from mid century, if not early and later on in the 2000's - The Typography Workbook was published in 2004 and is fantastic to flip through, especially with a glass of red. Written by designer Timothy Samara, published by Rockport
Graphic Design Books
Graphic Design Books and working with design in Adobe. Often under-utilised there are so many beautiful design books out there in the wild. Here at Greta Powell Training we've been collecting for decades and thought we'd start sharing some of them on social media. We'll kick off with the Typography Workbook, first published in 2004 by Rockport Press and probably a must read for anyone interested in design from that era. Find out more about the Typography Workbook on our Insta page
InDesign Training - Working with Templates
One of the questions we get asked on our InDesign Introduction courses is how to work with templates. The reason for this is lots of companies have existing templates that need updating...for example annual reports, financials and so on. They were probably already created by a previous member of staff and the new person needs to know how they work with them. InDesign comes with built-in templates which are easily editable and these are the ones (see left) we work with on the training.
Adobe Photoshop Training, AI and Neural Filters
On our new and update Adobe Photoshop Courses for 2024 we've included most of the AI tools including Neural Filters, Generative Fill and also working with Generative Prompts. The image on left started the Photoshop Course as a product design but we got side-tracked into the AI side of Photoshop and took an in-depth look at Neural Filters. It's hard to believe that this image started it's morning as a black and white and with the aid of the colorise filter ended up in colour mere seconds later.
