ClareUngerCeramics on Instagram: "Here I am preparing a slab to make a large platter. After rolling out the slab it is cut to size and then mono printed with a pattern that was stencilled onto newsprint in white slip. Next I imprint the clay with the stitching texture - bit by bit as none of my texture plates are large enough to do it in one go - carefully handling the clay - which is very floppy- to avoid stretching it too much. Sadly none that I’ve made have survived so far - most have cracked in the drying phase. Oh well… that’s ceramics🙄 I’ll keep trying! #failure #cracking #printing #slab #platter #ceramics #stitching #texture #clay #keeptrying"
