2013 June 16th, Kendal Kendal is, in my mind, the southern gateway to The Lake District. You walk around this historic town getting several glimpses of the fells beyond. It's a really picturesque town, even, or especially, on a moody day as suggested in this set, for me it's a prerequisite to the Lakes.
