The Blind Beggar And His Dog, Cranbrook Estate, Bethanl Green (1957-59). This bronze sculpture by Elizabeth Frink was commissioned by Bethnal Green Metropolitan Borough. It was first sited in Roman Road in 1959 and moved to its present site in 1963. The statue stands eight feet on a stepped concrete plinth. The Blind Beggar of Bethnal Green is said to be a local mythological figure dating back to the seventeenth century. The sculpture was grade II listed in 1998.
