Ottoman yataghan / yatagan, circa 1800, slightly curving blade and tapering point, the spine and sides decorated with bands of gold overlay consisting of undulating leafy and floral vines, one side with an inscription-filled cartouche, the silver-gilt hilt and scabbard with repousse decoration consisting of profuse floral motifs, 76 cm. long. The inscriptions comprise: mustapha pasha nasarahu allal amin, 'Mustapha Pasha may Gold help him, Amen!'.
