Copied this from one of the comments on the best way to achieve. Rosemary Barsh Hayhurst It is not sand in the wine glass - each has a sponge - look very closely at them. Cut the sponge to fit the inside of the glass as far as you want it to sit when the glass is upside down (you may be lucky enough to find a sponge the size of the glass opening). Glue the shells to the sponge (you can use a hot/cool glue gun). Then glue the sponge to precut foam board, put hot glue around the edge of the glass
