Rajmata Krishna Kumari was the last reigning Maharani of Marwar-Jodhpur; her husband was H.H. Raj Rajeshwar Maharajadhiraj Shri Hanwant Singh. He married thrice, she was his first wife, in 1948 his second wife was HH Maharani Sundra Devi (formerly Sandra McBryde). His third wife was the actress of the 1920's Zubeidaa Begum. They married in Sept.1948 and Sandra took name Sundari Devi. They divorced after a tempestuous and brief union. In 1952 when he died she was only 23. She converted acc to Arya Samaj rites at her marriage with HH Maharaja Hanwant Singh of Jodhpur, on 17th December 1950, at Bombay. H.H. Raj Rajeshwar Maharajadhiraj Shri Hanwant Singh was the ruler of Jodhpur (1947-52). His wife was Rajmata Krishna Kumari. He died in a plane crash with his mistress Zubeida near Bhawalpur. They lived in Umaid Bhavan in Jodhpur. He had won both the Lok Sabha and assembly elections from Jodhpur but died before the results were declared. H.H. Raj Rajeshwar Maharajadhiraj Shri Hanwant Singh of Jodhpur (1923 - 1952) was the ruler of the Indian princely state of Jodhpur from 1947 until 1952. He was a great player of Polo & is accredited as world polo champion. He succeeded his father as Maharaja of Jodhpur in 1947. He was progressive & had faith in democracy. After Indian independence & formation of Rajasthan as a state within India, he formed a new political party in 1952, contested elections & won a majority in his region.
