traditional "Kutch embroidery" that originates form the region of "Kutch" in India West. First started in the 19th & 20th centuries, this embroidery is characterised by buttonhole, herringbone & chain stitches & always bears the "Maltese" cross.......The "Maltese" cross is used in Armenian embroidery...some researchers state that this embroidery was brought to India (the region of Kutch) by Arab traders that also visited Armenia
