I like this woven rope fishing net as it is just a really simple type of netting and the colours are really neutral which shows of shadows really easily in the sun for me to do a tonal drawing of and make it really detailed.

The second sketchbook page depicts drawings of small flax items that the students made using traditional Maori weaving methods. This allowed the integration of a hands-on sculptural task, which gave extra variety to the course.
