Napoleonic Blue

Inspiration using Chalk Paint® furniture paint by Annie Sloan in Napoleonic Blue. Napoleonic Blue is a rich deep blue in the Chalk Paint® palette, inspired by the ultramarine and cobalt blue pigments used for decorative work in everything from neoclassical interiors through to modern 20th century decoration.

Napoleonic Blue Colour Block Bedroom
This bold modern bedroom has been painted with Chalk Paint® furniture paint in Pure White and Napoleonic Blue, a dark bold royal blue in a colour blocked way, blue at the top by the ceiling. The bed has been painted in the same colour which adds to the colour blocked theme. The curtain is a hot pink and the floorboards are painted Paris Grey. Floral black duvet cover.

Napoleonic Blue Wall Paint
Napoleonic Blue is a deep, rich blue inspired by the ultramarine and cobalt pigments. Wall Paint is a tough, water-based household paint. It’s robust, smooth and easy to use with a luxurious matt finish and a very slight sheen. It matches Chalk Paint® in the same colour, as shown by this chair. Curtain made from Dulcet in Versailles; printed in colours to exactly match Old White, Versailles and Old Violet, and inspired by watercolour landscape paintings from the 1800s onwards.

Blue Armoire
Annie Sloan's colour confident Painter In Residence Ildiko Horvath painted this classic French armoire in bright cobalt blue. The whole piece is Napoleonic Blue knocked back with a little French Linen. She blended the colours together while she worked, using a spray bottle filled with water to keep the paint wet and adding a little Aubusson Blue along the way. A mix of Honfleur and French Linen was painted into the recesses of the door panels.

Lacquered Splattered Floor
Annie Sloan painted the wall with Wall Paint in Napoleonic Blue, a rich deep blue and the floor in the same Chalk Paint® colour. She then flicked specks of Louis Blue, a clean pastel blue all over the floor and lacquered it with Gloss Lacquer. The G Plan piece is also painted with the same colour, with some of the rich dark wood showing.
