Daisy Scouts Purple Petal "Respect Myself and Others". We worked on self-respect since respecting others is taught in school. I recruited some Junior scouts to run little stations and split my troop into small groups. At each station the groups talked about one of the points on this map. The Daisies earned a sticker at each station. When they got all their stickers they earned the petal. I had the Junior scouts create and run their own mini-lessons for each point.

So why are we pumping them full of the #1 consumed drug worldwide? …..SUGAR!   We are getting them addicted to sugar at a young age and setting them up for failure – childhood obesity has become an epidemic… 20% of teenagers are obese. For the average kid, computers and smartphones are fun tools. Education comes much later. Getting a kid excited about programming might take some doing because logic needs a bit of time to develop. It is imagination and creativity which arrive first. That’s where the crux of these ten tools lie…using creative tools to get children excited about programming.
